The idea that a bookstore might be a community gathering-place that's important to people - that's a message worth spreading, too.John Meaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13236108158993642237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010225.post-15886109016977671322015-04-22T21:41:32.074+00:002015-04-22T21:41:32.074+00:00John, glad you're following the SF trade at su...John, glad you're following the SF trade at sufficient granularity to notice Borderlands' woes. I wonder if you know that at the last moment, their community decided it was worth sponsoring the store at $100/year? And that they got the necessary 300 in less than 48 hours, and that the list keeps growing, and that they are over the moon with pride and joy at what fans they have in this town?

Funny, too, that they were the darlings of right-wing blowhards with a national audience who brayed "told ya so, living wages kill business and jobs"... until their customers stepped up and kept them open and celebrated better wages. All of a sudden, the conservative circus left town without saying goodbye.Chris Mayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13062146651027335799noreply@blogger.com
