This is my wife Yvonne last Saturday, after completing her first ultra marathon.
And the next day? She ran a half marathon. And again on Thursday, Friday and today... which makes 52 races of half-marathon-or-longer distance in the past 25 weeks. (That includes 15- and 16-milers plus full marathons.)
At the age of 64.
And she's not a lifelong athlete. She took up running in her 50s, stopped for 8 years after a bereavement, and in December 2016 started walking every day to regain her fitness. And this is what focus and commitment results in.
So I'm not the fittest person in my household. Not when it comes to actual cardio fitness and endurance.
Can anybody spell "Wonder Woman"?
