About Me
- Name: John Meaney
John Meaney is a lifelong martial artist, a computer consultant with degrees in physics and computer science, and a trained hypnotist.
As an author of several series, he has won the IPPY Award and been a finalist for the BSFA Award multiple times.
A new series of contemporary cyber thrillers features Case, a spec-ops cyber specialist who hears voices in his head. And then there's his fearsome partner Kat...
His near-future thrillers feature Josh Cumberland, an ex-special forces cyber specialist driven by family tragedy, desperate to do good in a near-future Britain wracked by climate change, a legalized knife culture and political corruption.
The Donal Riordan novels feature a detective in the spooky city of Tristopolis, where the sky is darkest purple and the city’s reactors are powered by the bones of the dead.
His seven Pilots novels include the Ragnarok trilogy, which begins with alien influences on humans at the dawn of the Viking era, includes the birth of the digital age at Bletchley Park, and concludes a million years from now with a conflict against forces from beyond a cosmic void.

I got my copy today and I'm really looking forward to starting it (just debating with myself whether to exercise some restraint and finish Empire State first, or put that on hold and risk it going off the boil, as it were).
I finished "Transmission" yesterday, it's excellent and I'm looking forward to the third installment. (Will that be out next year? I hjope there won't be another 2 year gap!)
I've posted a review:

Hi David... Most kind, sir! Glad you liked it.
Unless the sky falls in, Resonance will appear next year!
Hi again, just a quick note to say that I really enjoyed Transmission.
I would go so far as to say that I enjoyed it more than Paradox because it was all new story for me. Having already read the short story in Solaris meant I already knew some of the first story beforehand.
I 'd love if you explore that relationship between Pilot and Ship for us, it really puts the hairs up on the back of my arms.
Completely aside from The Ragnarok series, is it just my over-active imagination or do you have a link of sorts between the world of Edge and Point and that of the Nulapieron saga?
No you don't have to answer. I'm just going to go on believing it anyway.
I'm looking forward to the next instalment of Ragnarok.
Pad.
